![]() It just sucks so much, It sucks that playing differently cripples you so much. Too much windows and pallets? Boom, Nurse. Instead of Behavior actually adressing the core issues, they release perks and killers as band aids. Brand New parts suck, Iron Will sucks, boons suck. Slugging is not fun, camping is not fun, tunneling is not fun, most of iridescent killer add-ons are not fun. Anytime I try to make a different build, I just get fricked. I do not run Borrowed time and It pains me so much. I lack Decisive Strike and It pains me so much. I understand that killer hate the mate perks like Iron Will, Dead Hard, Decisive Strike and Borrowed time, but since I bought only one DLC (the Oni one), I seriously see why survivors run those bullsheet meta perks: It has became a necessity. The powercreep in this game is already way too much. In my humble, meaningless opinion, I would remove both boons and hexes, since the just tilt the scales so freaking much. Thanks for a valid explanation, now I do get the problem with boons. Boons as a mechanic, and CoH in particular, are easily worth one or more BNP in terms of time. Admittedly, compared to CoH the team could just bring medkits instead, but if we’re making that assumption then with CoH they can all bring toolboxes to speed it up that much more. ![]() Your blessing has effectively saved your team 94 Survivor seconds, enough for an entire generator and even some of another.ĭBD matches are ultimately a race: can the Survivors have enough time to complete the generators before the Killer has enough time to kill everyone? Boons are an enormous time waster for the Killer even if you ignore the actual effect of the Boon, and even then CoH specifically saves an enormous amount of time. Let’s say three Survivors heal off of your totem this match, yourself after blessing and then two more. And this isn’t factoring in the time is takes for a Survivor to find someone to heal them (assuming no comms), whereas Boons are revealed across the map, which could easily be another 10 seconds at least, for a total of 34.īut no one blesses just for one heal if they can help it. ![]() Now, the Survivors just saved 20 more seconds, so the Killer is down 24. Factor in the speed increase and it’s 12. Being able to self-heal with CoH makes that now just 16 Survivor seconds. Normally, healing takes 16 seconds and two Survivors, so it costs 32 Survivor seconds. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but now factor in the Boon’s effect. But every second you spend searching is another second the Killer spends searching too, so you’re actually earning your team three net positive seconds for every extra second you spend going somewhere obscure. Now, you could say it could take much longer to find a totem, especially if it’s out of the way like in the main building. If you subtract the 14 seconds it takes to boon a totem and say it takes maybe 6 seconds to find one (since you can usually just boon one near a generator), the Killer still loses 4 seconds just because you blessed. And that’s not including time the Survivors save using the Boon’s actual effect, plus how the jankiness of standing in the exact right spot to stomp a boon makes it really take like three or four seconds to stomp. 24 seconds is, more than a quarter of a generator. So that’s kinda like earning the Survivor team 24 seconds. The Killer’s time is four times as valuable as one Survivor. If the Killer goes five seconds out of their way to find it and one second to stomp it, that’s six Killer seconds. Those 3 seconds are still 3 seconds a survivor can stay on a Gen towards objective. This is literally how every swf functions, it's boring, and killers are tired of bring told adding a couple seconds to heal speed is the problem. If you "simply drop chase for someone else" you've now wasted all that time along with likely lost a fourth Gen meanwhile because COH no one has to get off that fifth Gen to heal the injured person. Within 3 minutes of the match start they have established unlimited non-altruistic or item requiring heals, 3 gens done, and killer often times still in a chase because the one survivor taking chase is an iron will flashlight user who pre-drops every pallet because for some reason there exists dozens of safe pallets on a map. Stick one Gen at start getting it done in mere seconds Killer starts chase with first survivor while two survivors split gens and one sets up COH. All because through it all COH allows greater gen pressure. This provides greater capacity to stay on gens, bring more toolboxes, more flashlights, less risk taking hits/swapping targets mid chase, etc. What that boon has done is provided a 5th perk to the other 3 members of the team. Enabling self-care on survivors who didn't bring a medkit/self-care is entirely the issue.
